Your library
The library is a grid of covers with the game you most recently played pulled out on top. Favorites float up, sort and filter are one menu, and every card has a details page.
The layout
- Continue playing. The last game you played, large, with Resume, a Saves menu, favorite and details buttons, and how long you've played.
- Recently played. A horizontal rail of up to six games you've opened recently.
- The grid. Every game as a cover. The final tile is always Add games.
- Cross-device banner. If you last played on another device signed in to the same iCloud account, a banner offers to continue that game here.
Tapping a card resumes the newest save state for that game. To boot from the title screen instead, use Start New Game from the card's long-press menu or the Saves menu. Your battery save still loads either way.
Sort and filter
The menu in the toolbar has two parts.
| Sort | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Recently played (default) | Newest first |
| Title | A to Z |
| Most played | By total play time |
| Recently added | Newest import first |
| System | One section per console |
Show narrows the grid to one system: All Games, then one row for each console you actually own. Both choices are remembered.
Favorites
Tap the heart on a card, the hero, or a details page. Favorites always sort to the top of the whole grid, or of their section when you sort by system.
The details page
Open it from the hero, the card's long-press menu, or the Details button. You'll find:
- Save states: every slot with its screenshot and age.
- Details: system, date added, last played, play time, whether the game has a battery save, and a note if the game file isn't on this device.
- Manage: Rename…, Send to Apple TV… (iPhone and iPad), and Delete Game.
On iPhone, iPad and Mac, long-press (or right-click) any cover for Play, Choose Save…, Start New Game, favorite, and Details. VoiceOver users reach the same actions through the rotor.
Play activity
Settings → Play activity shows time per game and your Game Center badges. Play time syncs with your library, so it counts every device on the same iCloud account.
